GOV.
ASA HUTCHINSON TO KEYNOTE
POLICY
FOUNDATION 20TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT
(November 2014) Arkansas Gov. Asa
Hutchinson will keynote the Policy Foundation's 20th anniversary Recognition
Reception on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Little Rock Club on
the 30th Floor of the Regions Center (400 West Capitol Avenue).
Policy Foundation volunteers and
supporters will be honored at the event.
Gov. Hutchinson worked to pass the
biggest income tax cut in Arkansas history, a long-time policy goal of the
Policy Foundation since the Murphy Commission issued its recommendations in
late 1998.
The freshman Republican is also
emphasizing the importance of identifying efficiencies in Arkansas state government.
Policy
Foundation Founded in 1995
Two decades ago a small group of
business owners and investors concerned about Arkansas' economic future
organized the Policy Foundation as a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3)
not-for-profit think tank. The Foundation emphasizes the importance
of tax policy and education reform, and encourages citizenship through forums
and other activities.
Arkansas' policy climate has not
always welcomed these ideas but the Policy Foundation has persisted for 20
years with the help of committed supporters and volunteers. The Policy Foundation's Board has never
wavered in its resolve to maintain a credible, independent research group
serving the people of Arkansas.
The 20th anniversary Recognition
Reception will highlight the Policy Foundation's work in two areas: charter
schools and pro-growth economic policies.
Tens of thousands of Arkansas students have benefited from charters
since the Policy Foundation proposed the idea in a 1996 study. More Arkansans are benefiting from reductions
in income tax rates, a dramatic change in the policy climate led by Gov.
Hutchinson.
